Term Time Qualified Nursery Nurse

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established charity seeking to employ a Term-Time Qualified Nursery Nurse for their quality preschool near Hilsea, Portsmouth. They are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to create a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring compliance with all organizational and Ofsted standards. The goal is to support children in reaching their full potential and confidently preparing for school.

Requirements

• Holds a recognized Level 3 Early Years Childcare Qualification
• Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety practices
• Passionate about working with children and supporting their development
• Caring, nurturing, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain personal punctuality, presentation, and adherence to uniform and absence policies, providing notice for absences.
2. Stay updated with Ofsted requirements for early years and ensure these are met within the setting.
3. Engage in continuous professional development through training, observation, and study.
4. Plan, execute, and evaluate daily activities, fulfilling staff duties as per rotas.
5. Ensure the safety of the building and equipment, reporting hazards and defects promptly.
6. Understand and apply the Early Years Foundation Stage standards to promote child development and safety.
7. Communicate effectively with parents/carers about children’s development and needs.
8. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting concerns to the Line Manager or Safeguarding Officers.
9. Carry out Key-person responsibilities, including observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress using Learning Journals or Tapestry.
10. Prioritize safeguarding, ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all children inside and outside the setting, reporting concerns appropriately.
