Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our civil/structural/geotechnical team across multiple UK locations. The role offers agile working with up to 1–2 days from home and a 40-hour week.

Starting salary is £40k per year, with opportunities to work on a wide range of infrastructure and built-environment projects. Successful candidates will have practical engineering grounding, desire to progress toward CEng/IEng, and strong teamwork skills to support complex construction

Qualifications

• Practically-minded with solid civil/structural/geotechnical engineering grounding.
• Knowledge of applicable design standards and codes.
• Willingness to progress toward Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivery of complex construction engineering services, including temporary works design and checking.
• Review permanent designs for compliance and buildability.
• Support tenders, preconstruction planning, and project delivery with technical input.
