Job summary

Kier is seeking a Practical Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our civil, structural and geotechnical team across the UK. You will contribute to design outputs, perform calculations, reviews and risk assessments, and support preconstruction and delivery phases.

You'll work on diverse projects within Kier's portfolio, with agile working options and potential home-based days. Chartered status or progress toward CEng/IEng is welcomed, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is key.

Qualifications

• Practically-minded engineer with strong principles in civil/structural/geotechnical design.
• Experience in temporary works design and site coordination is desirable.
• Ability to apply design standards and ensure buildability and safety.

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs: calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, and risk assessments.
• Acting as Project Lead for simpler projects, managing scope, programme and budgets.
