Job summary

J Reddington Ltd, a leading groundwork and concrete frame specialist, invites a design engineer to join its team. The role focuses on temporary works schemes, design reports, and scheme drawings for projects across London and the South East.

You will design concrete structures, select temporary works solutions, produce calculation reports and workshop drawings, develop designer risk assessments, and liaise with clients and the design team.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering, working towards chartership.
• Good knowledge of EC2 and BS 5975 design codes.
• Proficient with 3D software—Revit, Tedds, Robot, Wallap and Graytec Advanced Design.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and team collaboration.
• Ideally 5 years post-graduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the design of concrete structures, groundwork and formwork systems.
• Select the appropriate temporary works solution for a scheme.
• Produce calculation reports in line with design codes.
• Produce workshop drawings to illustrate the temporary works solution selected.
• Produce designer risk assessments.
• Work with permanent works designer to integrate the temporary solution where possible.
• Liaise with clients and all members of the design team when necessary.

Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset J Reddington Ltd have been an industry leading groundwork and concrete frame specialist for over two decades.

Building on a proven track record to date, the company is now increasingly being called upon to deliver solutions on large projects in London and the South East.

We are looking to recruit a design engineer with responsibility for carrying out temporary works schemes and associated design reports with scheme drawings.

Role Includes But Is Not Limited To

• Undertake the design of concrete structures, groundwork and formwork systems
• Select the appropriate temporary works solution for a scheme
• Produce calculation reports in line with design codes
• Produce workshop drawings to illustrate the temporary works solution selected
• Produce designer risk assessments
• Work with permanent works designer to integrate the temporary solution where possible
• Liaise with clients and all members of the design team when necessary

Requirements

• Applicants should have a good knowledge of building codes such as EC2 & BS 5975
• Possess a civil or structural engineering degree working towards chartership
• Good working knowledge of 3D software especially Revit, Tedds, Robot, Wallap, Graytec Advanced design
• Ability to perform under pressure and work to tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Must be able to work as part of a team but use own initiative to complete tasks
• Knowledge of concrete structures, groundwork support and formwork support systems
• Ideally 5 years post graduate experience
