Job summary
Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is looking for a Temporary Works Coordinator to oversee temporary works across projects, principally in the North East of England. You will coordinate design, inspections, permits and RAMS, ensuring safe construction in accordance with BS5975 and CDM, working with site teams, clients and subcontractors. The role emphasizes governance, collaboration and training to promote best practice and a culture aligned with BB PT&D values.
Qualifications
Civil or structural eng qualification required; ideally BEng or higher.
CITB Temporary Works Coordinator training (or equivalent).
SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification desirable.
Proven experience as Temporary Works Coordinator, preferably in power transmission/distribution.
Good knowledge of BS 5975 and CDM regulations.
Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
Discharge duties of Temporary Works Coordinator on BB PT&D projects per BS5975 and company procedures.
Coordinate with Designers, Clients and site teams to plan safe temporary works.
Review design output for constructability and compliance with the brief; ensure approvals.
Identify, assess and mitigate risks; maintain RAMS and related records.
Issue permits and oversee inspections before, during and after temporary works.
Promote best practices and provide training on temporary works to site personnel.
