Job summary

Lexington School District Four seeks a School Nurse Substitute (Pool) to provide temporary nursing coverage across district schools. You will administer medical assistance, follow individual healthcare plans, and ensure student safety and health services are delivered in accordance with district procedures.

The role requires holding a current, unrestricted RN or LPN license and maintaining confidential student health records using district health systems.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as a professional registered nurse (RN) or as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides school nursing services at assigned schools on an as-needed basis.
• Assesses student illnesses and injuries and provides first aid or medical assistance.
• Dispenses medications in accordance with physician orders and district procedures.
• Follows individual healthcare plans, emergency action plans, and medical protocols.
• Maintains confidential student health records using district systems.
• Communicates with parents, guardians, school staff and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.
• Responds to medical emergencies following district procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
