Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join a school in the OX15 area on a temporary basis for around 6 weeks. Working 7:00am–3:30pm, pay is £17–£22 per hour DOE.

The post involves opening the school, site checks, maintenance and keeping the site safe for lessons. You'll manage deliveries and contractors, maintain outdoor areas, respond to health and safety issues, and report faults.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have previous caretaker, site maintenance or similar experience.
• Good practical and DIY skills.
• Solid awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to issues.

Responsibilities

• Opening the school each morning and carrying out site checks.
• General maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring the school site is safe and secure.
• Setting up rooms for lessons, meetings and events.
• Managing deliveries and contractors.
• Maintaining outdoor areas and grounds.
• Responding to maintenance, health and safety and site issues.
• Reporting any faults or repairs that require further attention.
