Job summary

Central Employment Agency (North East) Ltd. is seeking a Temporary Production Operative for a fast-paced site in Shildon to support machine operation, assembly line tasks and inline quality checks across two shifts 06:00-14:30 and 14:30-23:00.

You will follow SOPs, maintain safety and 5S housekeeping, report non-conforming items, and contribute to on-time delivery. GCSE maths and English are required; additional health & safety training is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or factory environment.
• Proficient in operating basic production or assembly machinery safely and efficiently.
• Experience on an assembly line with time-sensitive, repeatable tasks.
• Familiarity with basic quality checks and related documentation.
• Strong health and safety awareness in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery per SOPs and production schedules.
• Perform assembly line tasks including component fitting and basic assembly.
• Conduct visual and basic measurement-based quality inspections at key stages.
• Identify and report non-conforming products or materials to supervisor.
• Follow work instructions, job cards, and specifications accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and support 5S housekeeping.
• Adhere to site health and safety procedures including PPE use.
• Work across different stations and tasks to support production on both shifts.
