Job summary

NRL is seeking a on-site electrical engineer to plan and manage temporary electrical systems for large-scale construction projects. You will ensure safety, compliance with BS 7671, and alignment with project milestones while coordinating with site teams and contractors.

Responsibilities include budget and resource management, regular inspections, and securing proper certifications and documentation for all systems to minimise disruption on site.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification or engineering degree.
• Experience managing temporary electrical installations on construction sites.
• Strong understanding of BS 7671 and related regulations.
• Experience with site planning, logistics, and integration of temporary electrical services.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills for coordinating multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage design, installation and maintenance of temporary electrical systems on site.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, health and safety regulations, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors and design consultants to align activities with milestones.
• Monitor and maintain temporary electrics to support construction activities.
• Inspect installations regularly and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Manage budgets, materials and resources to deliver on time and within cost.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure proper certification and documentation for all systems.
