Role Overview

9-12 Month Temp Contracts Available

This temporary role will contribute to the production of all Cargo security systems by routing, wiring, assembling, and installing electrical and electronic components to a very high standard.

Responsibilities

• Route, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components in mobile truck systems and fixed or gantry rail systems, such as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and CCTV cameras, according to specifications, using jig boards, hand tools, power tools (drills, etc.), and other equipment. Read drawings and schematics to determine assembly methods.
• Cut wires to specified lengths using wire cutters.
• Slip plastic sleeves over wire ends to insulate connections.
• Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends using hand or machine crimping devices.
• Route, tie, and attach wires to terminal points according to layout, using hand tools.
• Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, switches, and solenoids, and install accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units using hand tools.
• Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs using ohmmeters, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.
• Experience working with 240V and 415V systems, and working with Cat5 cables, would be advantageous.
• Support ISO standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualifications are not essential but relevant hands-on experience in a rapidly changing environment is vital.
• Attention to detail and producing quality work are essential skills.
• Experience working with 240V and 415V systems, and with Cat5 cables, is advantageous.
