ICAEW, based in Wythenshawe, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join the finance team on a temporary basis with immediate start. You will manage customer accounts, proactively collect debts and resolve disputes to protect cash flow.

The role requires strong query management, excellent communication and the ability to work with sales, customer service and logistics to address invoicing questions and optimize collections.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Credit Control role is essential.
• Good command of Excel and finance systems.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage high volumes of customer contact.
• Manufacturing or product-based environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated ledger of customer accounts.
• Proactively collect outstanding debt via telephone and email.
• Take ownership of customer queries and disputes from investigation to resolution.

The Opportunity: An established manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a temporary basis with an immediate start available.
This is a fast-paced role with a strong focus on query management, requiring someone who can build relationships with customers, investigate issues efficiently and ensure outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner. You'll be working closely with the sales, customer service and finance teams to resolve disputes and reduce aged debt.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a designated ledger of customer accounts.
• Proactively collect outstanding debt via telephone and email.
• Take ownership of customer queries and disputes from initial investigation through to resolution.
• Liaise with internal departments, including Sales, Customer Service and Logistics to resolve invoice and delivery-related queries.
• Monitor aged debt and produce regular reports for management.
• Maintain accurate customer records and detailed collection notes.
• Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments.
• Review credit limits and elevate potential risks where necessary.
• Support month-end reporting and cash collection forecasting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment and effective dispute resolution.

About You

• Previous experience in a Credit Control role.
• Strong query management and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable handling a high volume of customer contact.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution or product-based environment would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
