Job summary

A well-established manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join the finance team on a temporary basis with an immediate start.

You will manage customer ledgers, proactively collect debts, and resolve disputes while collaborating with Sales, Customer Service and Logistics to maintain cash flow and reduce aged debt. Immediate start and a supportive team are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Credit Control role within manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong query management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High-volume customer contact experience.
• Intermediate Excel and finance systems experience.
• Available to start immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated ledger of customer accounts.
• Proactively collect outstanding debt via telephone and email.
• Take ownership of customer queries and disputes from initial investigation through to resolution.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice and delivery-related queries.
• Monitor aged debt and produce regular reports for management.
• Maintain accurate customer records and detailed collection notes.
• Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments.
• Review credit limits and escalate potential risks where necessary.
• Support month-end reporting and cash collection forecasting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment and effective dispute resolution.

The Opportunity: An established manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a temporary basis with an immediate start available.

This is a fast-paced role with a strong focus on query management, requiring someone who can build relationships with customers, investigate issues efficiently and ensure outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner. You'll be working closely with the sales, customer service and finance teams to resolve disputes and reduce aged debt.
