A leading recruitment agency in the United Kingdom is seeking a Temporary Cook to prepare and present high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes. Candidates should possess Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificates and have experience in a professional kitchen. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a busy service environment. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and support from a dynamic kitchen team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard.
  • Handle orders efficiently during busy service times.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
  • Support menu planning and daily food preparation.
  • Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and organised.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Manage stock rotation and report shortages.

Temporary Cook

Salary:

£13-£16 per hour (dependent on experience)

Location:

Thame

Hours:

7:30am - 4:00pm, 4-5 days per week

Key Responsibilities of the Temporary Cook
  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to a high standard.
  • Handle orders efficiently during busy service times.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety practices at all times.
  • Support menu planning and daily food preparation.
  • Ensure kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and organised.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues as needed.

About you
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene / Food Safety Certificate (essential).
  • Proven experience working as a chef in a professional kitchen, ideally in a café or daytime service environment.
  • Ability to work independently and handle busy service periods.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Reliability and a positive, proactive attitude.
