Base pay range

Working for a specialist pharmaceutical business headquartered in Buckinghamshire. Reporting to the FC, with offices near Maidenhead, the Financial Accounts Assistant will support the Financial Controller, Financial Accountant, Financial Reporting Accountant, and the wider Finance Department in delivering accurate and timely financial data and supporting documentation. The role will assist the international commercial team and contribute to compliance, reporting, and analytical work that underpin decision-making within finance.

The role includes:
  1. Supporting the production of monthly and quarterly financial documentation, including journal postings, reconciliations, and financial provisions/prepayments.
  2. Performing manual payment tracking, bank reconciliations, and submission processes through HSBC.
  3. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date cost center forecasts and budgets for departments such as Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, and Communications.
  4. Conducting variance analysis and reporting, providing business partnering support to stakeholders.
  5. Responding to audit queries and supporting statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g., ABPI, ONS, VAT, PPT).
  6. Assisting in managing credit control processes for international accounts, including debt chasing, credit limit adjustments, and reporting.
  7. Ensuring month-end tasks such as accruals, prepayments, depreciation, FX analysis, and tax postings are completed accurately.
  8. Maintaining the Fixed and Intangible Asset registers, liaising with key contributors and finance colleagues to ensure values are up-to-date and depreciated/amortized consistently and accurately.
  9. Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including HMRC, tax advisors, HSBC, and others.

Key Contacts:

Internal: Financial Controller, Finance Team, International Commercial Team, Romford Factory Finance Team, and various department heads.

External: HSBC, HMRC, Tax advisors, Auditors, ONS, International Customers.

Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in a financial assistant or accounts support role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of transactions.
  • Proficiency with Excel and SAP (or equivalent ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage ad hoc requests.
  • Available immediately and interested in temporary work.
  • Car driver and willing to commute 2-3 days a week on site.
  • Able to commit to a 4-6 month temporary position.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment.
