Salary: GBP27,625 per annum
Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, 6 months

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our close-knit team at Meadowcroft School located in Wakefield.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager, undertaking general maintenance, security, porterage, and cleaning services at specified sites. This includes regular statutory checks such as asbestos visual checks, fire alarm weekly and periodic tests, water checks, etc.
Maintain Health and Safety paperwork and online systems in accordance with Acorn Care and Education policies and procedures and Independent School Standards.
Maintain security of the site, including opening and closing procedures, sharing locking/unlocking responsibilities with staff, and liaising with alarm companies for emergency call-outs.
Undertake periodic checks like asbestos visual checks, fire alarm tests, water temperature checks, first aid kit checks, emergency lighting tests, fire door checks, operation of fire exits, fire extinguisher tests, ladder checks, and equipment condition checks.
Place orders following accepted procedures, including arranging delivery of materials for maintenance tasks.
Participate in emergency and fire marshal training, be a member of the Health & Safety Committee, and be willing to undertake IOSH qualification and other training provided by Acorn.
Provide transport duties, including mini bus runs, and manage school vehicles to ensure they are in good condition and available when needed.
