Job summary

Putnoe Primary School is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant for a temporary role covering Spring and Summer 2027. You will support the class teacher with a class of 4-year-olds, helping with play-based learning, early literacy and numeracy, and daily routines.

Hours can be full or part time, with lunchtime supervision and personal care for children starting school. A Level 3 EYFS qualification, GCSE English and Maths, and an enhanced DBS check are required; visa sponsorship is not

Qualifications

• Full Level 3 or above early years qualification meeting DfE requirements
• GCSE English and Maths at a pass grade or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with play-based activities that follow the EYFS framework
• Work with individuals or small groups to build communication, social, early literacy and numeracy skills
• Set up indoor and outdoor learning areas with safe, clean and accessible resources
• Observe children and share observations with the teacher to plan next steps
• Support daily routines, including lunchtime supervision, independence and personal care
