Job summary

Beechgrove Care Home in Lanark is seeking a Temp Domestic Assistant to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, with a focus on hygiene and presentation.

Responsibilities include cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, supporting laundry services, and following infection control and safety procedures to ensure high standards of wellbeing and comfort for everyone.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential

Job description

Our private nursing home is tucked away within the picturesque Lanark countryside, offering specialist care for 70-residents.

Temp Domestic Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 25 hours per week - Temp position to cover Maternity Leave
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Domestic Assistant, you will play an essential role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, dignity and comfort. This is a hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will have a direct impact on daily life.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. You will also support laundry services, helping to ensure personal belongings are handled with care and returned correctly.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and cleaning procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with required standards. Your role will contribute to a well organised, respectful and comfortable environment for everyone.
