Job summary

The One Group is seeking a Temporary Assistant Accountant to support the client’s finance team on a 1-3 month assignment. The role covers transactional finance, month-end accounting, and investigating discrepancies.

Based in Peterborough, the site-based position offers a rate of up to £20 per hour and requires the ability to hit the ground running, with strong Excel and accounting system skills and availability to start at short notice.

Qualifications

• Broad, practical accounting background with hands-on experience in AP/AR.
• Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.
• Ability to investigate unusual or incorrect entries and identify root causes.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Process and review financial transactions.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and correct accounting records.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end processes and balance sheet checks.
• Review data for inconsistencies and ensure accuracy.
• Provide general finance support as required.
