Job summary

Astute Recruitment is seeking a temporary Accounts Payable Clerk for an ongoing assignment based in the NG17 area. You will process supplier invoices, code and post, and maintain purchase ledgers to support a busy finance team.

The role requires accuracy, good communication with suppliers, and proficiency in accounting systems (Sage preferred). On-site work with strict timescales and month-end support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger.
• Experience processing supplier invoices in a busy finance environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with Sage or similar accounting software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Coding, matching and posting invoices onto the accounting system.
• Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and supplier accounts.
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
• Responding to supplier queries and resolving invoice-related issues.
• Supporting the finance team with month-end activities and outstanding invoice queries.
• Ensuring invoices are processed within agreed timescales.
• Providing general accounts administration and supporting the wider finance function as required.
