Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a proactive Business Developer to join our depot team. You will build trade customer relationships, generate leads, and convert conversations into opportunities and sales.

The role focuses on new business and growing spend with existing accounts, using calls and visits to drive activity. You will collaborate with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives, work to targets, and contribute to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

• Confident communicator with customers on phone and face to face
• Able to build relationships and turn conversations into opportunities
• Commercially minded with a focus on driving sales and adding value
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive
• Organised and reliable, able to manage customer activity and pipelines
• Comfortable meeting call targets and activity levels

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow business
• Use customer data to spot inactivity and reactivate accounts
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity
• Keep up to date with customer projects to identify value opportunities
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged
• Support administration including invoicing and depot tasks
• Collaborate with the depot team to hit targets and deliver great service
