Job summary

Optical Express in Glasgow is seeking a Telemedicine Optometrist to deliver patient care remotely from our flagship clinic in Glasgow City Centre.

You will join a multidisciplinary team including ophthalmologists, reviewing referrals and providing clinical support as required; opportunities for professional development and access to CET courses are included.

Qualifications

• Registered optometrist with current license and professional registration.
• Experience delivering care via telemedicine platforms.
• Ability to triage referrals from optometrists and GPs.
• Excellent patient communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work Tuesday to Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with and treat patients via telemedicine.
• Review referrals and allocate to the appropriate ophthalmology clinic.
• Provide clinical support to the hub administrative team as needed.
• Collaborate with operations and clinical leads to improve service delivery.

Hours – 40 Hours per week (Tuesday to Saturday)

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Telemedicine Optometrist to provide care to patients from our flagship clinic in Glasgow City Centre.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside experienced eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, and play a crucial role in the delivery of a diverse range of clinical eye care services to our patients.

At Optical Express, no two days are the same. Your role will be varied and can include:

• As a telemedicine optometrist your primary duty will be to communicate with and treat patients via telemedicine.


• In the referral triage team, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming referrals from optometrists, GPs and other primary care routes, allocating them to the most appropriate ophthalmology clinic.


• As a qualified optometrist you will provide clinical support to the hub administrative team where required.


• Working alongside the operations and clinical leads to identify areas for improvements in service delivery.
