Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Footprint Manager – Telematics to lead a team of risk analysts and drive profitability through strategic expansion of the Telematics footprint. The role combines pricing, analytics and stakeholder engagement to shape portfolio decisions.

The position is hybrid with multiple UK locations, including Leicester, London and Bexhill. You’ll influence underwriting practices, manage risk, and partner with leaders to deliver growth while maintaining fair customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of underwriting principles.
• Pricing/analytics experience in financial services.
• Knowledge of insurance market and competitors.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Identify and expand our competitive footprint or rectify unprofitable segments.
• Develop & deliver new approaches to manage underwriting risk in new footprint segments.
• Analyse risk using loss ratios and KPIs and make portfolio recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders to shape growth strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of risk analysts.
• Ensure fair outcomes for customers and challenge processes that don’t meet expectations.
