Job summary

Zego in London is seeking a Data Scientist to help build driving intelligence from telematics data. You’ll develop features and algorithms that detect driving patterns from sensors, test hypotheses, and push insights into production.

You’ll work where data science meets engineering, turning GPS, accelerometer and other spatial data into scalable, real-world insights that shape our product roadmap and insurance offerings.

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on data science or data engineering experience with production-grade code.
• Strong Python and SQL skills and experience building data pipelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Growth mindset, curious, eager to learn from peers.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine behavioural features from telematics data.
• Develop end-to-end Python/SQL pipelines from heuristics to ML models.
• Create scalable, robust solutions (rule-based or ML-driven).
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to implement features.
• Run experiments, test ideas, and automate insight generation.
• Translate sensor data into clear insights to influence product roadmap.
