Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in Campbeltown, Argyll & Bute, seeks a Multi Skilled Operator to expertly run mobile plant, mainly telehandlers, and manage attachments to move waste on site at the HWRC. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations.

You'll perform routine checks, keep equipment clean, report defects, and support general site work to maintain a safe, tidy facility. 38 hours weekly, with a 4-on/4-off rotation, and a competitive annual salary.

Qualifications

• Mobile Plant experience is essential.
• Previous knowledge of heavy machinery / mobile plant required.
• Ability to work productively with all operations team members and the public.
• Carry out daily maintenance duties and minor repairs under guidance.
• Demonstrate high standards in self and others for quality, pace.
• Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
• Basic understanding of health, safety, environmental and APHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Daily and weekly checks of mobile plant per site procedures and manufacturer handbook.
• Ensure plant cleanliness to the highest standard.
• Report defects immediately to Lead Operative or site management.
• Report incidents as per systems to help improve daily activities and public safety.
• Follow risk assessments and safe operating procedures relevant to the post.
• Comply with company standards, procedures, environmental and quality systems.
• Keep skips and waste containers/bays to a minimum.
• General site work including housekeeping, ground maintenance, painting, litter picking, keeping site safe and tidy.
