Job summary

Laing O''Rourke is seeking a Telehandler operator to join our Norwich site. You will be responsible for lifting and loading tasks, daily checks, and maintaining safe operation of plant machinery on a busy construction site.

Experience operating Telehandlers in a civil engineering environment is essential, with relevant certifications (CPCS/NPORS) and a CSCS card preferred. This role is based at Kiln Lane, Norwich, and offers onsite benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS/NPORS certification for relevant plant.
• CSCS card is required.
• Lifting Operations Training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate Telehandler for lifting and loading tasks.
• Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections, and basic maintenance.
• Safely operate plant machinery per training and OEM guidelines.
• Complete daily walk around checks as per OEM recommendations.
• Keep the plant in good condition and free from damage.
• Record working hours on the time sheet and obtain approval from the customer representative.
• Use fuel, materials and equipment efficiently to minimise waste.
• Demonstrate proven Telehandler experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Be aware of lifting operations, exclusion zones and safe working limits.

Job description

Day to Day Duties

• Operate Telehandler for, lifting and loading tasks.
• Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections, and basic maintenance to ensure the machine is safe and serviceable.
• Safe operation of plant machinery, according to training and OEM guidelines.
• Completion of daily walk around checks and inspections, according to OEM recommendations.
• Ensuring plant remains in good condition and free from damage.
• Ensuring all working hours are captured on the assigned time sheet and approved by the customer representative
• Ensure efficient use of fuel, materials and equipment to minimise waste and maximise machine efficiency.
• Proven experience in operating Telehandlers in a construction or civil engineering environment.
• Awareness of lifting operations, exclusion zones, and safe working limits of Telehandler

Other considerations

• Valid CPCS/NPORS certification for relevant plant CSCS Logo Required
• CSCS Card (where required)
• Full UK driving license (desirable)
• Lifting Operations Training (desirable)
