Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting an experienced telehandler driver to provide holiday cover on a fast-paced new build housing development in Hornsea, United Kingdom. This is a short-term contract offering steady hours and a crucial role in keeping site logistics moving safely and efficiently while the permanent driver is away.

You will operate a telescopic handler across live plots, unload deliveries, assist trades, and conduct daily pre-checks with the site team to maintain safe working environments.

Qualifications

• CPCS or NPORS Telescopic Handler category required.
• Experience operating a Telehandler on new build housing sites.
• Full PPE (hard hat, high-visibility clothing, steel toe cap boots).
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Awareness of site health and safety around live plots.
• Reliable, punctual and able to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a telescopic handler across a live residential housing site.

Job description

We are currently recruiting an experienced telehandler driver to provide holiday cover on a fast-paced new build housing development in Hornsea.

This is an ideal short-term contract for a reliable operator looking to pick up steady hours. You will be essential in keeping site logistics moving safely and efficiently, ensuring materials are right where trades need them while the permanent driver is away.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operating a telescopic handler across a live residential housing site.

Unloading delivery vehicles and staging materials (bricks, blocks, timber, roof trusses) across active plots.

Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with scheduled material lifts.

Conducting daily plant inspections, logging pre-checks, and keeping the machine clean and secure.

Working closely with the Site Manager to maintain daily plot schedules.

Stepping off the machine during quieter periods to assist with general site housekeeping, ensuring a safe, organised working environment.

Requirements:

Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with Telescopic Handler category (Essential).

Solid experience operating a Telehandler on new build housing sites.

Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).

Valid UK Driving Licence.

Strong awareness of site health and safety, particularly regarding pedestrian segregation around live plots.

Excellent communication, reliability, and punctuality.

Based in or easily commutable to Hornsea.
