Job summary

Aligra Personnel Ltd. seeks an Applications & Design-for-Manufacture Engineer to join a fast-paced team in Swindon, Wiltshire. The role blends hands-on design, prototyping and client engagement, with regional travel to assess project needs and support manufacturing success.

You will create CAD models, optimize designs for production, and contribute to NPI with cross-functional teams. Travel and training are supported as you grow in this dynamic role.

Qualifications

Engineering background (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
2D/3D CAD experience (SolidWorks/AutoCAD)
Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
Excellent communication for customer-facing roles

Responsibilities

Support sales with regional client visits to assess project needs and provide expert technical advice
Deliver real-time design-for-manufacture solutions during client meetings
Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings (training provided)
Review customer designs to optimise for production efficiency and cost
Oversee prototyping and NPI processes with production teams
Produce detailed technical documentation for manufacturing and quality control
