Job summary

British Red Cross is seeking a compassionate Support Worker for the Telecare Response Service in Hertford. You will work on a 24/7 rota, providing practical and emotional support, welfare checks, and assistance to vulnerable adults across Hertfordshire.

The role operates on a casual basis with shifts as required. The post requires a full UK driving licence, vehicle access, and the ability to respond within 60 minutes to service users.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support via calls, welfare checks, shopping and guidance to service users.
• Respond to calls from service users.
• Support adults after hospital discharge to enable early discharge.
• Respond to referrals from clinicians and community health professionals.
• Assess service users’ needs and follow a support plan.
