Job summary

Northern Education Trust is seeking a Technology Technician at The Grangefield Academy, Stockton-on-Tees. The role supports the Design & Technology department, preparing materials, equipment and resources for practical activities and maintaining workshop tools to ensure safe, high-quality learning experiences.

The post involves part-time hours (18.5 hrs, 39 weeks, 45.942 paid weeks) with a focus on safety, organisation and hands-on assistance during lessons.

Technology Technician

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: Grade 4, SCP 10-12 (£28,608.00 - £29,542.00 FTE, £12,637.58 - £13,050.18 pro rata)

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment

Working Type: Part time (18.5 hours, 39 working weeks, 45.942 paid weeks)

Base: The Grangefield Academy, Oxbridge Avenue, Stockton on Tees, TS18 4LE

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender's act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Technology Technician to join our dedicated team, supporting the Design & Technology department.

This role will involve providing technical and practical support to ensure the smooth running of lessons across the department. You will be responsible for preparing materials, equipment and resources for practical activities, maintaining tools and machinery, and ensuring that all areas are safe, organised and ready for learning.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and has a strong awareness of health and safety within a workshop environment. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards, supporting staff during practical lessons where required, and contributing to a safe and engaging learning experience for all students.
