Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc, through Connect Plus Services, seeks a Technology Engineer to join the Maintenance Team, maintaining technology assets including CCTV, ERT, MIDAS, RCC, NTIS, SVD and signaling equipment across the M25.

You'll perform maintenance, fault rectification and on-call duties with a mix of day and night shifts, and travel to Dartford, Leatherhead or South Mimms as needed.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Electronic or Technology Qualifications or Apprenticeship.
  • IT literate.
  • Card holder or training in: MEWPS; NHSS8 Certification; Traffic Management.
  • Confined spaces.
  • CSCS Safety Card.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a customer focused/service/commercial approach to work.
  • Ensure systems are maintained and repaired within contractual requirements through efficient and effective working.
  • Ensure NH Service Now data is captured and entered correctly and all data accurate.
  • Attends faults, knockdowns etc. and carries out reactive maintenance including the reinstatement of sites, cable and equipment damaged by others.
  • Carries out fault / failure rectification and maintenance duties, included within the shift / on-call rota and/or out of hours maintenance within the contract response times.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all faults are repaired within Contract timescales.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all planned maintenance is carried out within contract timescales.
  • Responsibility of employer's stores, ensuring all stock is booked in and out.
  • Ensure that the communications infrastructure is being maintained to standard.
  • Record and report any health and safety concerns to your line manager ASAP.
  • Manage time and vehicle efficiently whilst on the network.
  • Adhere to 'Zero Harm' safety process at all times.

As a

About The Role

As a Technology Engineer, you will be a part of the Connect Plus Services Technology Maintenance Team, responsible for maintaining and improving the technology assets in Area 5.

Your role will involve conducting maintenance and rectifying faults on various types of equipment, including CCTV, Emergency Response Technology (ERT), Motorway Incident Detection and Automatic Signalling (MIDAS), Roadside Communication Equipment (RCC), Network Traffic Information System (NTIS), Signal Vehicle Detection (SVD), traffic signals, message signs, and other signaling equipment. This work will be conducted in accordance with the National Highways and Technology Services quality plan, ensuring that all systems are maintained and repaired to meet contractual requirements and deadlines.

Can be based at Dartford, Leatherhead or South Mimms with travel to sites across M25 network.
