Job Role: Technology Programme & Project Manager

Location: Manchester (must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis)

Career Level: Level 8 (Associate Manager)

Salary: Competitive, plus benefits.

As a team:
  • Accountable for delivering across several key clients, including senior stakeholder management, project planning, release scoping, change management, monitoring & tracking progress, and managing implementation along with supporting live proving of changes.
  • Ensuring early identification of successful delivery pathways in the development lifecycle, managing and supporting project managers across multiple business segments and customer channels.
  • Active involvement in Team/Regional Portfolio Planning sessions, driving the change roadmap with both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing change across the software development lifecycle, delivering effective risk, governance, compliance, and control management within the team, ensuring adherence to responsibilities.

As a Technology Programme & Project Manager you will:

  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of client projects and sub-workstreams, ensuring compliance with project management best practices and high standards.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, external vendors, and Accenture teams, including complex stakeholder management, to ensure clarity on scope, timelines, and status.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify potential risks/issues and develop mitigation plans proactively.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure project deliverables meet client needs and project charters.
  • Manage junior resources across projects, assigning team members based on skills and experience.
  • Maintain project documentation and reporting systems according to quality standards.
  • Proactively incorporate process improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality.
We are looking for experience in the following skills:
  • Experience working in Financial Services in advisory, technical, operational, or leadership roles is essential.
  • External recognized Project Management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, CSM, and ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to identify and address issues proactively that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical details to stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Utilize automation tools to optimize end-to-end change cycle processes.
  • Technical understanding of organisational system components from Mainframe to Cloud.
  • Experience managing the full change lifecycle, including budget and resource management.
