Technical AI & Data Senior Project Manager, AI & Data Programme Manager, Technical AI Delivery Manager, AI & Data Portfolio Manager, Mainly Remote

Senior Project Manager, AI Programme Manager, Data & AI Technical Portfolio Manager (TPM) required to work for a Professional Services business based in Central London. However, this is a global role that may require some global travel (fully expensed) but most of the work can be done from the comfort of your own home.

The Senior Project Manager / Programme Manager / Portfolio Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and successful delivery of a portfolio of technical initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and client expectations. This role will focus on supporting a significant service line, in the largest technology programme of work our client has ever been involved in.

We essentially need someone who has operated at Programme Management level, has dealt with C-Suite Stakeholders from business and technology and has delivered Data & AI solutions on an enterprise level. There is a written side to it too, where you will be writing and designing high level, strategic technical documents for the business to digest, prior to the Programme / Project executions. There will be several meetings that you will be running with key stakeholders in both the business and technology, where you would have to be confident enough to hold your own, run the meetings and be prepared to be challenged…by sometimes difficult stakeholders on occasions!

The role is for the Strategy and implementation of AI and Data services as an emerging priority within the company.

This role will serve as the primary liaison between the Business & Methodology and Leading Change groups and the Data & AI technical team, driving transparency, consistency, and efficiency across Data & AI projects.

As this has global coverage, there may be some early / late calls. You must be prepared for this. There will be give and take with times, along with some flexibility if things are becoming quite taxing. However, we want someone dedicated and definitely not someone who wants a hardened 9am – 5pm kind of position!

Experience required:

1. Circa 8+ years’ of experience in technical project, portfolio, or delivery management, with a focus on business-facing roles and technical solution delivery.
2. Demonstrated experience in demand management, budget development, and resource planning.
3. Strong experience supporting pre-project efforts and leading the development of technical proposals, scoping, and statement of work (SoW) documents.
4. Demonstrated experience in leading Data or AI initiatives.
5. Experience in working with multiple third-party vendors and partners to deliver complex products and engagements.
6. Team building and pragmatic problem-solving skills with local, international, and multicultural staff.
7. Ability to understand the holistic business needs of the organisation and apply this understanding to the management of the programme.
8. Ability to multitask, balancing priorities among competing needs whilst ensuring the required detail and quality is achieved, providing the highest level of value to BDO.
9. Strong interpersonal, collaboration and business relationship skills.
10. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
11. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and able to adopt flexible working practices as required from time to time.
12. Able to manage sensitive and confidential information.
13. Able and willing to travel internationally when required.
14. Able and willing to work US time zone for meetings when required.
