Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, invites applications for a Technology, Material and Process Analyst Internship. You will join the Future Talent team, supporting apprentice onboarding, marketing and school events, and helping organise engagement activities.

You will gain hands-on experience from day one, shaping your own areas of responsibility within a world-class automotive manufacturer and contributing to production of the future.

Qualifications

  • Study of materials science, chemistry, surface technology, plastics technology, mechanical engineering or scientifically based education and experience relevant to the role.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory environment and practical material analysis experience desirable.
  • Broad knowledge of production processes and BMW wider business to support technical knowledge.
  • Analytical thinking, team work, IT skills and a structured way of working.
  • In-depth knowledge of problem resolution techniques and/or project management.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental impacts.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the spectrum of laboratory research in an agile environment.
  • Develop testing plans with us, accompany us in carrying out and evaluating complex investigations and problem analyses in metals/non-metals, chemistry and process materials.
  • Work on topics of the future and contribute to shaping them with us.
  • Interpret results, generate recommendations and create test reports.
  • Assist in developing test methods and improving existing ones to contribute to future production.
  • Gain deep insights into various areas of the company through daily contact with process partners and help shape them.
  • Enjoy cross-site collaboration and communication with plants and other TWA/laboratory locations.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood – Future Talent Events Placement Year (July 2027)

The Rolls-Royce Future Talent team is responsible for steering the training and development needs of all Intern, Graduates and Apprentices within our Goodwood office.

In the Apprentice Training area, you will be part of the team to support with all aspects of apprentice onboarding, apprentice marketing and school events. You will develop and organise apprentice engagement activities. Over the course of the year, you will build the skills needed to plan and run apprentice events including recruitment Assessment Centres and Welcome Evenings.

  • Enjoy cross‑site collaboration and communication with the plants and other TWA/laboratory locations.
What should you bring along?
  • Study of materials science, chemistry, surface technology, plastics technology, mechanical engineering or scientifically based education and experience that are relevant to the professional role.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory environment and practical experience with material analysis in the laboratory is desirable.
  • Broad knowledge of production processes and BMW wider business to support technical knowledge is desirable.
  • Analytical thinking, ability to work in a team, IT skills and a structured way of working.
  • In‑depth knowledge of problem resolution techniques and / or project management.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental impacts.
  • Valid UK driving license.
