Job summary

Morrisons Head Office in Bradford is recruiting an Automation Testing Lead to shape and deliver the automation strategy across all technology projects, working with internal teams and external suppliers.

You will lead a team of automation specialists, drive an automation-first culture, champion best practices, and continuously improve the automation framework to deliver measurable ROI and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define automation feasibility and strategy with project timelines
• Provide SME advice on automation feasibility, execution, defects and results analysis
• Refine, lead and communicate the Automation Testing strategy across delivery functions
• Lead a team of automation and testing specialists, reporting progress to milestones
• Contribute to QA & Test community, championing best practices across domains
• Work with supplier teams to conduct automation feasibility analysis
• Challenge and approve automation test results with End of Test Reports
• Ensure continuous improvement of the automation framework for robust execution
• Champion reusability and cost-saving efficiencies of automation testing including AL tools
• Collate governance metrics on automation and manual testing for Leadership

You will lead the automation testing strategy and implementation across all technology projects in partnership with 3rd-party suppliers. Drive an automation-first culture focused on reusability, AI integration, and continuous improvement to deliver measurable ROI and operational efficiency

Accountabilities:

Customer

• Work with Project teams to define automation feasibility and strategy, in line with at-pace project timelines and objectives.
• Provide SME advice and guidance to the Project teams, including partners, on automation feasibility, execution, defects and results analysis.

Colleague

• Refine, lead and communicate the Automation Testing strategy across all delivery functions, including internal and external partners.
• Lead a team of automation and testing specialists, reporting progress against milestones to meet project timelines.
• Contribute to wider QA & Test community, defining and championing best practice across all domains.

Operational

• Work with supplier teams to conduct rigorous automation feasibility analysis, in line with Master Test Plans.
• Work with supplier teams to challenge and approve automation test results, in line with End of Test Reports.
• Accountable for the continuous improvement of the automation framework, ensuring consistent, robust and reliable execution by all teams.

Sales, Profit and Cash

• Champion the reusability and cost-saving efficiencies of automation testing and maintenance, including exploration, trials and implementation of Al tools, in line with company policy.
• Collate governance metrics on automation and manual testing to present back to the Leadership team and drive continuous improvements.
