About Our Client
Our client is an award-winning, market-leading industrial producer supplying premium products to major UK retailers and food service networks. With a strong commitment to digital transformation and automation, they are continually improving their factory operations.
They are seeking a proactive Operations Technology Integration Lead to take the lead in designing and implementing shop-floor digital systems. The role offers a supportive, inclusive working environment with opportunities for professional growth and hands-on exposure to advanced industrial technology.
Role Purpose
Reporting directly to the Systems Programme Manager, you will take full operational ownership of the site-level technical applications workstream, acting as the recognised expert in factory-floor systems infrastructure.
You will manage the full project lifecycle, from scoping and technical design through to hands-on line-side configuration, vendor assurance and post-launch support. Working closely with colleagues across operations and technology, you will deliver integrated solutions that are reliable, practical and ready for use in live production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution & System Architecture
- Lead shop-floor technology projects, taking ownership of solution design, system configuration decisions and cross-system integration standards.
- Coordinate technical support specialists assigned to deployment workstreams, plan their workloads and review the quality of their work.
- Manage complex data flows and interface dependencies between shop-floor hardware, live data tracking systems and central ERP systems.
- Work closely with Infrastructure and Business System Leads to manage cross-site integrations, maintaining project records and test evidence to auditable standards.
- Line-Side Deployment & Vendor Auditing
- Review and constructively challenge external software vendors' solution designs, ensuring delivery aligns with corporate project plans and deadlines.
- Support new facility openings and factory extensions, overseeing line-side hardware readiness and equipment commissioning.
- Provide hands-on support in live production environments, troubleshooting real-time system issues and delivering expert break/fix support when required.
- Develop and deliver user guides, technical documentation and coaching plans to support effective system adoption across shift teams.
- Regulatory & Environmental Compliance
- Configure systems to accurately record and track industry-specific safety processes, including batch traceability, allergen monitoring and material control logs.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements, actively promoting hazard identification and accurate incident reporting.
- Work in line with corporate environmental and sustainability frameworks, supporting production sites' efficiency and environmental targets.
