Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking a Technology Engineer to install, commission and maintain roadside technology equipment across the NH East region. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, testing and collaborating with operations teams and subcontractors.

You will work on site, sometimes at height or at night, and travel to contract sites as required. A DBS check is expected, with relevant electrical/electronic background. Be part of keeping highways infrastructure safe and connected.

Qualifications

• Experience in installation/maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment.
• ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Basic IT skills including Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel across NH East contract sites.
• Comfortable with night work.
• Able to complete a basic DBS check.

• Ensure productivity and quality targets are achieved.
• Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
• Support the delivery of roadside technology works across the regional highways network.

Technology Engineer – Roadside Technology

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE

Location: Toddington / NH East Region

Full Time – 40 Hours | Variable Shift Pattern

I am recruiting for an experienced Technology Engineer – Roadside Technology to join a well-established organisation specialising in the delivery and maintenance of critical highways infrastructure across the UK.

The business plays a key role in keeping major road networks safe, operational and connected, delivering highways maintenance, technology and infrastructure services across significant national and regional contracts. This role sits within the NH East operation and will focus specifically on roadside technology across the region.

This is a hands‑on engineering position involving the installation, maintenance and commissioning of roadside technology equipment, working alongside operational teams and specialist subcontractors.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in the installation and/or maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment.
• ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Previous registration with or knowledge of HERS.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel across NH East contract sites.
• Comfortable working roadside and at height.
• Flexibility to undertake night work where required.
• Ability to successfully complete a basic DBS check.
