Job summary

Oasis Academy Mayfield is seeking a lead teacher to head the Technology department and sit on the middle leadership team. The role includes responsibility for departmental staff and technicians, curriculum, assessment and improvement planning, with a focus on raising attainment for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners.

Specialisms are Design Technology or Food, and there is an emphasis on leadership of the department and its standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Technology department, including departmental staff and technician support
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement
• Oversee curriculum development, assessment and departmental improvement planning
• Monitor progress and implement strategies to raise attainment for all learners, including disadvantaged and vulnerable students
• Ensure effective management of resources and the highest standards of health and safety
