Job summary

A leading education technology organization in the UK seeks an experienced Technology Business Partner to bridge the gap between technology and business. This role will involve strategic collaboration, technology adoption, and digital transformation to enhance educational outcomes. Ideal candidates will have strong IT strategy skills, project management experience, and a degree in IT or Business Management. This is a full-time position with hybrid working conditions.

Impact You'll Make

As an experienced Technology Business Partner, you'll be the strategic bridge between Technology and the wider business, ensuring that every solution, service, and initiative empowers colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for the schools, educators and communities we support. Your work will help shape smarter processes, accelerate digital transformation, and unlock innovation that enables teams across Supporting Education Group (SEG) to achieve their goals and make an even greater impact on education.

The role will focus on driving technology adoption, optimising business processes, and supporting the delivery of IT initiatives that enable SEG’s operational and growth goals. This is a strategic and hands‑on role that spans multiple businesses and IT projects, ensuring technology investments are aligned with business priorities and deliver tangible commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with business leaders to understand their goals and translate these into clear IT strategies and actionable technology roadmaps.
  • Trusted Technology Advisor: Serve as the primary point of contact for technology needs within assigned business areas, guiding decision‑making and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Requirements Champion: Capture, assess and prioritise business requirements, ensuring solutions deliver measurable value and align with organisational objectives.
  • Solution Delivery Support: Work closely with internal IT teams and external partners to ensure deliverables are secure, feasible and aligned with group standards.
  • Transformation Driver: Identify and lead digital transformation opportunities that improve efficiency, processes and user experience.
  • Performance Guardian: Monitor IT service performance and communicate value delivery and insights to stakeholders.
  • Governance & Compliance Advocate: Support risk management, governance processes and adherence to IT standards across programmes.
  • Engagement Facilitator: Run workshops and stakeholder sessions that bring people together to shape technology solutions built around real business needs.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in IT strategy, business engagement and technology delivery
  • Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical and functional requirements
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and project methodologies
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations
Additional preferences
  • Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or BCS Practitioner Certificate in IT Business Partnering

  • Hybrid working: regular presence in our Bristol office at least two days per week, with visits to our Holborn office in London approximately once every other week
