TÜV SÜD Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Wireless Test Technician/Engineer to contribute to wireless testing services. You will perform testing on radar, Emergency Radio Beacons, AIS and digital interfaces, following COSPAS SARSAT/RTCM/IEC/EN standards.

The role requires hands-on RF measurement experience and the ability to work independently. The position offers a full-time, onsite role in Fareham with potential for travel to customer sites and offsite tests as needed.

• Educated to Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Engineering experience in a test-based role.

Responsabilidades

• Test radar and Emergency Radio Beacons to COSPAS SARSAT / RTCM / IEC / EN standards in lab or field.
• Record test results and generate test reports following quality procedures.
• Ensure work complies with regulatory requirements and test plans.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and customer to provide technical support and meet timescales.
• Occasional offsite testing as required.

Working as part of a team of Wireless Test Technician and Engineers, (after a period of training) you will contribute to the provision of a Wireless testing service, specifically performing testing on radars, Emergency Radio Beacons, AIS and digital interfaces.

The level of the role offered would depend on the skills, competencies and experience of the successful candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities - What will you be doing?

• Testing of radar and Emergency Radio Beacons to COSPAS SARSAT / RTCM / IEC / EN test standards both within the chambers and radio test laboratories at Octagon House, or; Testing of AIS and other marine products using protocol & digital interface techniques.
• Recording test results using various electronic logbook systems and production of test reports, following company quality procedures.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements or defined Test Plan supplied by the customer, assisting with the development of test plans with the customer as necessary.
• Close liaison with the Project Manager and/or customer, to provide technical support and ensure work is carried out accurately and within the timescales allowed.
• Adhoc delivery of offsite testing as required.

What are we looking for?

Essential Criteria

• Experience of using RF test equipment such as spectrum/network analyser, oscilloscope, signal generator, RF power meter etc.
• Educated to Level 3 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or be able to demonstrate equivalent and relevant experience.
• Engineering experience in a test based role
• Ability to work independently and be proactive
• A desire to learn new skills and willing to understand new disciplines

Desirable Criteria

• An understanding of the requirements of the COSPAS SARSAT / RTCM / IEC / EN standards.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to customer sites or offsite locations
• Experience performing RF accredited testing.
• Knowledge of Emergency Beacon functionality and the certification requirements.
• Ability to work on various shift patterns
