Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a permanent Underground Plant Mechanical Maintenance Technician at St Ives Mine. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on underground and surface infrastructure as part of the maintenance team.

Role includes a 6% site allowance, monthly health benefit, generous leave, parental leave, FIFO parking discount, and a $10k referral bonus. Training provided and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate is required.
• Strong experience in maintenance of underground mining fixed plant.
• Willingness to obtain additional tickets and training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance with scheduled inspections and repairs.
• Service and adjust plant and underground equipment to minimise downtime.
• Process maintenance orders and parts through SAP.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas in workshops and yards.
• Collaborate with a strong, dynamic maintenance team.

The Opportunity:

In the role, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative mechanical maintenance and repairs of the Underground and Surface Infrastructure as part of our Underground Plant Mechanical Maintenance Team at St Ives Mine.

Skills & Qualifications

• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
• Strong Mechanical Maintenance of underground mining fixed plant infrastructure
• Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift Tickets -desirable
• Previous experience in Maintenance of Paste & Batching plants -Advantageous

About the Role

• Achieve targets by executing preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, trouble shooting and timely repair of plant and underground equipment
• Provide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise, and practical application, to minimise down time and subsequent loss of production
• Associated administration, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, recording of labour time, etc. through the efficient utilisation of SAP
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the Underground and Surface maintenance workshops as with all areas where maintenance work is carried out
• Be able to work safely and collaboratively in a strong and dynamic team-based culture
