Job Description

Responsibilities include: assembly, forming, finishing, material removal, inspection, rework, and repair of components and parts, maintenance of machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum and electrical systems. Includes operation of machines, hand and power tools, gages, measuring instruments, fabrication of temporary tooling, tooling maintenance, and first-level maintenance.

Shift Details

This is a WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT: Friday-Sunday 4:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and evaluate patterns, determine removal method to meet specifications, and remove material by media tank.
  2. Prepare parts for the tank by painting, patching, and masking for etching.
  3. Drill, assemble rivets and brackets, trim, and touch up paint.
  4. Deburr and form parts using expanders, hot dye presses, and rolls.
  5. Mask parts using tape for holes, cut parts, and strip boards.
  6. Strip flanges, load parts with crane, run laser programs.
  7. Maintain maintenance records and order spare parts as needed.
  8. Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with standards and regulations.
  9. Support the development of a business culture aligned with company goals.
  10. Ensure workplace safety and environmental protection policies are followed.
  11. Comply with GKN Aerospace policies regarding US government contracting.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of experience with hand tools and measuring tools
  • 1 year of experience reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder for security clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience with GKN
  • Experience with hazardous materials or chemicals
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues
  • Willingness to work in a repetitive production environment
