Lakes College West Cumbria is seeking a motivated and organised Hair & Beauty Technician to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching by preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of practical sessions.

This hands-on role suits someone with industry experience or a passion for Hair & Beauty, who enjoys working in a dynamic educational environment and can work flexibly as part of the technician team to support curriculum delivery.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Hair or Beauty is essential.
• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent.
• Recent and relevant industry experience.
• Experience in a similar technician or support role.
• Knowledge of stock control systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up learning environments in line with lesson plans.
• Support tutors by preparing teaching aids, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain stock levels, place orders, and ensure value for money.
• Manage and maintain equipment records, testing schedules, and servicing logs.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Work flexibly as part of the technician team to support curriculum delivery.

Qualifications

A Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject essential

5 GCSE’s (including Maths & English or equivalent) essential

Computer Literacy Knowledge of Microsoft Office essential

Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, COSHH, etc) or willing to work towards desirable

Experience

Recent and relevant industry experience in sector essential
