Job Title: Technician - Engineering

Location: Lowestoft

Hours: Full Time – 37 hpw

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Band E - £23500.00 FTE

At East Coast College, our Engineering team sits within state-of-the-art facilities and is made up of lecturers, assessors, technicians, and work placement administrators, who are all committed to the innovative and quality-driven curriculum and training the Engineering sector needs.

Our Engineering team is currently developing the skills and knowledge of around 370 students spanning Further Education, Higher Education, and Apprenticeship qualifications, and you will be a driving mechanism in their achievement.

With exciting developments to the curriculum such as T-Levels and a focus on Apprenticeships, your ability to inspire and challenge students will add to the already highly regarded delivery our long-running employer partnerships throughout Norfolk and Suffolk enjoy. Maximising resources through knowledge of the sector needs, advances in practice and technology, and an inherent love for Engineering will all facilitate student and college success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide invaluable support within the workshop – students and staff
  • Ensuring equipment, materials, and facilities are well maintained and accessible/usable
  • Ability to coach and develop student skills and knowledge
  • Level 3 Machining – Milling, Turning, CNC highly desirable
