A leading city council is seeking a Technician for its Scientific Services team in Glasgow. This role involves analyzing samples in a laboratory setting, requiring knowledge of analytical chemistry and good laboratory practices. Candidates must hold a relevant qualification and be adaptable with strong communication skills.
An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Technician to join our Scientific Services team on a permanent basis.

You will analyze a wide variety of samples within testing laboratories. An understanding of analytical chemistry fundamentals and experience working in a chemistry/microbiology laboratory are essential.
You should be familiar with good laboratory practices and have experience with routine analysis. Preferably, you will be familiar with LIM systems and laboratory quality systems.
A flexible approach to work, good communication skills, IT skills, and a good standard of manual dexterity are required. The ability to work independently, establish good relationships with team members, and respond effectively to delegated responsibilities with minimal supervision is essential.
A minimum of a City & Guilds/ONC/SCOTVEC or equivalent qualification is required, along with a current driving license for travel to various locations across Scotland.
Desirable: P401 - Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Materials.
The successful candidate is expected to expand their knowledge and demonstrate an aptitude for acquiring new skills.

Weekly Hours: 35 hours
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: £26,584.54 - £28,609.93 (incremental scale)
