Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Basildon is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair customer vehicles to manufacturer standards. You will diagnose faults using modern equipment and complete warranty repairs as required.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, strong servicing and diagnostic skills, and a full UK driving licence with up to 3 points. Working hours are Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays, and a competitive bonus scheme is available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• Previous experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 3 points.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining manufacturer standards.
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work where required.
• Completing warranty repairs in line with manufacturer procedures.
• Participating in ongoing manufacturer and in-house training programmes.
• Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards.
• Working closely with the wider workshop team to deliver excellent customer service.

Vehicle Technician

Location: Basildon

Salary: £36,000 - £55,000 OTE depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm | Alternate Saturdays 8:00am - 1:00pm

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing customer vehicles while ensuring every job is completed to the highest manufacturer standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining manufacturer standards
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying additional work where required
• Completing warranty repairs in line with manufacturer procedures
• Participating in ongoing manufacturer and in-house training programmes
• Accurately completing workshop documentation and job cards
• Working closely with the wider workshop team to deliver excellent customer service

About You

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic
• Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills
• Experience using modern diagnostic equipment
• MOT Tester Licence desirable but not essential
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (maximum 3 penalty points)
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment
• A positive attitude with willingness to learn, develop and work as part of a professional team
