Job summary

Summer Browning is assisting a Central Government client in London with a 12-month contract for a Technical Writer focused on IT/infra/cloud documentation. The role requires clear, precise technical communication and experience producing governance-ready docs across complex environments.

The position is hybrid in London, offering opportunities to collaborate with engineers, IT architects, and stakeholders to produce high-quality documentation while ensuring regulatory compliance and information

Qualifications

• Degree in Technical Communication, IT, CS, or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in IT/infra/cloud/engineering.
• Strong understanding of technical terminology relating to infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and enterprise IT.
• Excellent written communication with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to organise information logically and present complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience managing multiple documentation deliverables across concurrent projects.
• Experience working in a secure, regulated environment - tier 2/tier 3 environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

SBA are currently supporting our Central Government client, who are seeking a Technical Writer on an initial 12 month contract

Location: London (hybrid)

Essential:

• Degree in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer within an IT, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, or technology environment.
• Strong understanding of technical terminology relating to infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and enterprise IT.
• Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to organise information logically and present complex technical concepts clearly.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Visio
