Job summary

Mick George Group seeks a Technical Waste Assessor to provide technical support to the waste department and wider business, ensuring compliance with WM3 guidance, environmental permits and duty of care obligations.

The role involves handling waste enquiries, ADR classification, liaising with laboratories, compiling reports for the Environment Agency, and maintaining accurate records. Monday–Friday, head office or site-based work as required.

Qualifications

• WM3 experience and knowledge of how to apply WM3 guidance.
• In-depth understanding of technical/chemical waste analysis and SDSs.
• Experience producing compliant duty of care waste transfer paperwork.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Methodical and flexible in approach to tasks.
• Pro-active team member.

Responsibilities

• Technically assess waste enquiries using WM3 guidance.
• Classify waste for transportation applying ADR as needed.
• Update Waste Compliance Manager on issues and provide regular updates.
• Prepare responses to Environment Agency requests, CAR and WAR reports.
• Ensure compliance of waste assessments with legislation, permits, licences and exemptions.
• Liaise with labs for sample analysis.
• Ensure NCRs are identified and acted upon promptly.
• Liaise with customers, operations, compliance, customer services and sales to ensure satisfaction.
• Support operations for off-site disposal.
• Respond promptly to client requests.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• General administration as required.
• Assist in Duty of Care audits and maintain proper record keeping.
• Generate compliant Waste Transfer Notes and consignment notes.
