Job summary

The Mick George Group is seeking a Technical Waste Assessor to provide technical support to the waste department and the wider organisation to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and environmental permits.

The role involves assessing waste enquiries, classifying waste under ADR, updating the Waste Compliance Manager, and preparing responses to information requests. You will liaise with laboratories and customers to maintain high standards of compliance and service.

Qualifications

• Working understanding and previous experience of how to apply WM3.
• In depth understanding of technical / chemical waste analysis and SDS’.
• Working knowledge and experience of producing compliant duty of care waste transfer paperwork.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks.
• A pro-active team member.

Responsibilities

• Technically assess all waste enquiries using WM3 guidance.
• Understand and apply ADR regulations to classify waste for transportation.
• Ensure the Waste Compliance Manager is properly updated of any issues arising and provided with regular updates.
• Prepare responses to Environment Agency information requests, CAR and WAR reports.
• Ensure compliance of all waste assessments with current legislation, permits, licences, and exemptions.
• Liaise with internal and external laboratories where sample analysis is required.
• Ensure that Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) are identified and dealt with promptly.
• Liaise with customers, operations, compliance, customer services and sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work with operations for off-site disposal.
• Ensure all client requests are acted upon promptly and efficiently.
• Answer all telephone calls promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• General administration as required.
• Assist in Duty of Care audits for existing and new customers.
• Maintain effective record keeping and documentation to accepted methods and procedures.
• Generation of compliant Waste Transfer Notes and consignment notes.
