Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar invites applications for a Teacher of Technical at Sir E Scott School. This permanent post is 35 hours per week and includes the Distant Islands Allowance.

The role involves teaching assigned classes, developing the curriculum, assessing and reporting on pupils, preparing for exams, and supporting pupil welfare. Appointment is subject to PVG checks and GTC Scotland Registration.

Qualifications

• Must have an appropriate degree or diploma.
• Must be registered with GTC Scotland.
• Subject to PVG scheme checks.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes with preparation and correction.
• Develop the school curriculum.
• Assess, record and report on pupil work.
• Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with exam administration.
• Provide advice and guidance to pupils on education issues.
• Promote health, welfare and safety of pupils.
• Work in partnership with parents, support staff and professionals.
• Engage in continuing professional development as agreed.
• Participate in school planning, raise achievement and conduct reviews.
• Contribute to good order and broader school needs.
