Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar invites applications for a Teacher of Music at Sir E Scott School. This 35‑hour post is permanent with a salary of £46,380 to £54,453 per year, including a £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance.

The successful candidate will hold a degree or diploma and be GTC Scotland registered. Duties include teaching, curriculum development, assessment, exams preparation and pupil guidance, with PVG clearance required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma relevant to Music teaching.
• Registration with GTC Scotland is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned music classes with preparation and marking.
• Develop and review the school music curriculum.
• Assess, record and report pupil progress.
• Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with administration.
• Provide guidance to pupils on education issues and welfare.
• Promote health, welfare and safety of pupils.
• Collaborate with parents, support staff and professionals.
• Engage in continuing professional development.
• Participate in school planning and raising achievement.
• Contribute to broader school needs.
